Type A and D are suitable for hardness testing of low to medium hardness and high hardness materials, respectively. When in use, place the sample on a sturdy, hold the hardness tester, and press the foot of the pressure firmly on the sample with a distance of at least 12m from the edges of the test sample, so that the pressure needle is vertically pressed into the sample until the foot of the pressure and the sample are completely in contact for 1s before reading.
Measure the hardness value 5 times at different positions with a distance of at least 6mm, and take the average value.
