Amazon review
Soundtrack version of the third movie version of the popular fantasy based on the original J.K. Rowling, ``Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'' (released in summer 2004). The music is by John Williams, who continued on from the previous two films.
It opens with the familiar theme <1>, passes through the comical <2> and the jazzy big band <3>, and by the time it reaches the ominous yet beautiful chorus <5>, you are completely drawn into the world of the work. The Baroque-style flavors such as <7> and <11>, with their impressive harpsichord tones, are also fun. The impact around <8><14><16>, where the heavy sound of the timpani explodes, seems to indicate the magnitude of the disaster that Harry will face. The style is darker and more tense than the previous two works, and perfectly echoes the atmosphere of the original work. (Shogo Yasukawa)
Media coverage reviews, etc.
OST of a Hollywood blockbuster. The music is by John Williams, the master who also worked on the previous two films. This work incorporates elements of baroque music such as Bach and Handel, which he admires, throughout. There are jazzy melodies like (3), and dark songs like (13) and (16). Just like in movies, you can enjoy magnificent sound.
