A generously sized pasta bread designed by world-famous Japanese industrial design guru Sori Yanagi. Popular for its simple design that is easy to use and never gets boring. The inner basket made of expanded metal is large in size and has plenty of capacity. Unlike shallow pasta pots, when you boil the noodles, they seem to be swimming inside. The mesh of the basket is fine, so even thin noodles like somen can be boiled. Furthermore, it is light, easy to lift, and drains easily. Made of 18-8 stainless steel, it is lightweight, durable, and easy to clean.
Not only can you boil pasta, but you can also boil whole meat and vegetables or make soup. If you remove the inner basket, you can of course use it as a two-handed deep pot. The bottom thickness is 1.0mm. Diameter 22cm, pot only depth 15cm (height including basket approx. 19.5cm). Capacity is 6.0 liters when full. Weight is approximately 2.0kg. However, it is not compatible with induction cooktops (IH). (Makiko Nakamura)
About the manufacturer
Sori Yanagi is a master Japanese industrial designer. His works range from the Olympic cauldron to furniture, tableware, and cutlery. In 1952, Yanagi Kogyo Design Study Group was established. Since then, we have consistently pursued "ease of use." His thoughts were influenced in no small part by his father, Soetsu Yanagi, who was a central figure in the Japanese folk art movement. The handle of a pot, the curve of a kitchen tool. Each of these is created while actually verifying its usability using three-dimensional models. Extravagance has been stripped down to the point of stoicism, leaving only something refined in form, ease of use, and beauty.
Modern design from Japan and around the world. Herein lies the beauty of using it.
