AFRICAN BLACK BAR SOAP HUMBLE BEGINNINGS Nubian Heritage is the brainchild of two New York street vendors. In 1992, fresh out of college and without jobs, Rich and Nyema embarked on a mission to produce luxurious products from traditional African recipes. Today Nubian Heritage offers culturally authentic products infused with naturally-derived ingredients inspired by global ancient philosophies. Although Nubian Heritage products no longer made in bath tubs, little else has changed. We still make our own products, using fair trade shea butter along with other globally-sourced ingredients.

HERITAGE For centuries, African Black Soap has been used in Africa to cleanse and care for the skin. Historical references to Shea Butter, a staple of African pharmacology, date back to the reported Shea Butter caravans of Cleopatra's Egypt.
